Kevin and Natalie are a smart, funny and charismatic Boston couple. We met them at a coffee shop while they were visiting Portland, where Kevin is originally from, and within minutes, we were exchanging jokes, stories and anecdotes like a group of old friends. These two are just genuinely kind people with huge hearts and once we got to the wedding nearly a year later, we understood why. Their friends and family were nothing more than a mirror to the type of people Kevin and Natalie are. When you are raised by good people, and surround yourself with good people, than you are good people too. And it was our sheer pleasure to spend a few hours photographing Kevin, Natalie and all their good people, on particularly warm September day for their Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast wedding.
These two chose some non traditional wedding approaches to show their carefree vibe and unique spirits. First, they hosted a cocktail hour before the ceremony where they could take the edge off and just enjoy some extra time with their guests. Next, they guests were sat and the couple processed the aisle together, hand in hand. They read sweet and humorous vows from the iPhones and sealed their marriage with a kiss with Mt. Hood as their backdrop. Afterwards, guests enjoyed Voodoo donuts and a s’mores party by the fire. THen everyone danced their butts off to a band who had never played a wedding gig before but completely rocked the house, even giving us an encore performance or two before Natalie and Kevin made a somewhat traditional exit to sparklers.
A few weeks after the wedding, Natalie and Kevin sent us a thank you card AND gift. Only another testament to their truly thoughtful souls. We really feel we should be thanking them, for giving us the opportunity to celebrate and document such an awesome couple.
