Ean and Jen inquired with us in February for the March 1st wedding. Throughout our email exchanges, I assumed Jen meant 2015. As we tried to negotiate a weekend to have a meeting, it was getting closer to March 1 and so I thought to ask, “Wait, is your wedding March 1, THIS year?” To which Jen replied, “Haha! Yes, this year! We are seriously planning this wedding in less than 2 months!” I assured her that it could be done and we scratched the meeting for more emails and Jen promptly booked us online, knowing that she had to have us photograph her wedding.
A short engagement happens all the time because sometimes, the couple is no fuss, they know what they want and it just works. This was the case with Jen and Ean. They have known each other for a while and are raising a beautiful daughter together, 1 year old Aida. Whose birth gave a sister to Jen’s other daughter, a vivacious, sassy and fun 6 year old named Olivia. The two of these precious girls served as both the flower girls and bearers of rings. But in the most adorable way. Jen crafted a bike that Olivia could push Aida in, with a sign that read “Here comes our momma.” Cue collective “awwws” which were definitely present as the ceremony started.
Ean waited patiently for his three girls and after the ring hand off, he was joined by his bride as they exchanged short, sweet and humorous vows in front of nearly 200 guests at the Left Bank Annex. A simple, classy and downright good time of a reception followed with a friend serving as DJ, Salt & Straw ice cream by the scoop, our favorite photobooth, Happymatic, there for the candid moments and all of this made possible by the amazing team at Ella Events. It was pretty much a perfect night and we are so incredibly happy that Ean and Jen contacted us during those weeks before their wedding. We wish them and their cute little family all the best! Cheers!
