Willamette Valley Vineyards

In late August of this year, Oregon received a couple weeks of wild weather. We had one weekend of weddings that were interrupted by wild fires! Thankfully for Ryan & Lauren’s Willamette Valley Vineyards wedding, that wasn’t the case. The weekend did, however, get a serious bout of high speed wind gusts which one could argue was just as challenging!

Ryan and Lauren had planned a ceremony overlooking the vineyards but due to good old mother nature, it was moved indoors to the tasting room. While a little disappointment was surely felt initially, it was quickly overcome by their heartfelt ceremony full of laughter, enthusiasm and pure love. And from our perspective, we thought the rich wood and dark ceilings gave these two a romantic feel that they couldn’t have otherwise had. It was perfect!

The romantic ambiance continued downstairs for their wine cave dinner and dancing reception. After guests noshed on small bites, wine pairings and a delicious plated dinner, we heard some of the year’s best toasts. But we particularly enjoyed the obvious love between Lauren and her father whose speech, to his only daughter, brought a few tears to everyone’s eyes.

When the reception started, we were surprised to learn realize that this classy, graceful couple loved to party. They love to dance. They love to sing. They love to get a little crazy. As do their friends, whom were all hilarious and so much fun- especially the guy who ripped open his shirt half way through the dancing to reveal a heart he had drawn on his chest with the couple’s names inscribed inside it. Yes! And a quick shout out to the always amazing Design Band who provided the perfect soundtrack that kept the couple dancing and us photographing.

Cheers Ryan & Lauren and here’s to embracing elements and not letting a little rain (or wind) damper your incredible day!
