It’s gray and cloudy here in Portland right now which is why we are loving our recent blog posts from weddings captured in the summer. It’s so nice to look back on photos form a beautiful sunny day and see the happy faces of two people who just tied the knot. Erin and Patrick had such a day and we’re so happy to be sharing the photos from their McMenamin’s Edgefield wedding.
Working with Erin and Patrick was a dream. Their carefree, laid back and just plain cool attitudes made it impossible not to enjoy photographing them. They held a similar style wedding, making sure guests were well fed and drank plenty of good beer while celebrating the marriage of these two. Their ceremony was one that gave us a surprise ending, with Erin and Patrick being announced husband and wife followed them running to give high fives to every bridesmaid and groomsmen. Their exit that followed suit, as guests got to partake in the hand slapping and congratulations as they skipped down the aisle (they were indeed skipping!).
The reception continued with more good beer, a little corn hole on the lawn, a sweet first dance that everyone in tears and Erin’s grandfather singing a traditional family song. It was everything a wedding should be. Fun, intimate, relaxed, a little bit of tears and an outpouring of love from both friends and family. We were honored to be there and wish Erin and Patrick the best, come rain or shine!
Great job capturing the essence of our day, love it!
Perfect timing with the Dad. Love it.
What a sweet couple. That opening shot – wow!
