Linda and Sommer were hands down two of the most generous people we worked with all year. They were gracious, warm and so easy to talk to…every step of the way. From taking us to a tasting of the catering menu for one of our client meetings, to emailing us to check in on our preferences for where and when we would like to have dinner on the wedding day, we were constantly surprised and touched by their kindness towards us. Even going so far as to say, “Is there anything else we can arrange for you so you will be comfortable on the day?” This is not something we hear often and while we require little to no attention on a wedding day, it’s just like the old saying goes…it’s the thought that counts. And their thoughtfulness only made us more excited and more enthused to capture the beautiful memories created at their Irving Street Kitchen wedding.
Before exchanging vows in front of their nearest and dearest, Linda and Sommer got ready at a nearby Airbnb with, seriously, the most fun wedding party ever. This wedding party was a reflection of the couple, in the sense that they were equally super nice and happy to be around. As we waited for the elevator to walk a few blocks to the restaurant for the ceremony and reception, the wedding party started a round of “Going to the Chapel” which got us all in the marrying mood (despite no one knowing the actual lyrics)!
The rest of the day was a mix of emotions (and delicious food!) that every bride or groom hopes for at their wedding. The ceremony made everyone weep. The speeches made everyone smile. The dancing made everyone laugh. Linda and Sommer planned and executed the type of wedding that we wish could all have and we felt incredibly honored to be the photographers to document it.
