Labor Day weekend is always the most popular weekend of the year for us and weddings. It’s already booked for 2015 and was snatched up quickly for 2014 last year. One of those couples who snagged it early was Tim and Mela. And since labor day weekend gives guests an opportunity to have an extra day to enjoy, Tim and Mela made sure their Portland wedding was a treat for everyone, local and out of town guests alike.
The day began with Mela getting beautified and zipped into her classic lace gown by her mother and friends at the Benson Hotel downtown. Meanwhile, Tim was sipping fine bourbon and getting ready with his groomsmen and honorary groomsdog, the couple’s beloved pup Benny. (Who made a friend in Daniel pretty quickly, I might add.) After their first look inside their Benson suite, Mela and Tim loaded a bus with the wedding party and we all trekked to one of Portland’s coziest wedding venues, the World Forestry Center.
Vows were exchanged, a few tears were shed and Tim and Mela officially married. Which kicked off an epic party of hilarious heartfelt toasts, a party dress change, and music by the always entertaining, super crowd pleasing, Design Band. At the end of the night, the band handed the mic and instruments over to Tim and his friends, who play in a band together locally. With Tim behind the drums and Mela dancing by his side, guests were treated to a live performance which was the perfect cap for an already perfect night.
Awesome stuff! Love the dip shot in the first dance!
