Spring Mini Sessions 2019 – CONFIRMATION PAGE

Thank you for signing up for a spring mini session! I’m really excited to capture you and your family! Below is detailed information about our time together.

Where to go: 

Please note: Sunday May 19th was canceled due to rain and all sessions will now occur on May 25th at Hoyt Arboretum.

Saturday May 25: Hoyt Arboretum

We will meet at Hoyt Arboretum in the main parking area. There are two parking lots, one next to the visitor center and one directly across the street. City of Portland parking rates apply ($2/hour) and there is a payment box in each parking lot. The parking lot can get full, and sometimes you need to park on the street. Please allow for extra time to park.

A few tips:

Please arrive a 5-10 minutes prior to your shoot time. Plan ahead for any parking struggles or the notorious traffic of PDX. We will begin shooting at your appointment time so that I can end on time and prepare to meet my next family.  Unfortunately I cannot offer extended time from late arrivals. I hope you appreciate my attention to maximizing your limited time with me! While you’re there, enjoy the gorgeousness of the park!

(But that said, please call me as soon as you can if there’s a traffic incident or you get lost or there’s a baby duck crossing or Michelle Obama walks past you on the street while you’re getting the kids into the car and you might be a few behind…)

Prep your kiddo(s) for the shoot. With this short time together, a little prep can go a long way. Younger kids can be told they are going to have a super fabulous photo session where they get to feel famous! Works for my 3 year old anyway… :)

The key is to have them know they are here for a short & sweet session and their best behavior is appreciated. Babies fed and napped prior to the shoot is recommended.

What to Wear:

No need to be matchy matchy but similar color tones photograph well and create a cohesiveness to your portrait.
Solid colors (rather than busy or distracting prints/patterns) photograph best.

I want your session to be fun and comfortable. Enjoy this time with your family. Embrace your kid’s silliness (while engaging in some helpful coaching with me), be open and relaxed. Your photos are going to be fantastic.
