Montsalvat is a creative hub, conveniently located in Eltham, thirty-five minutes from central Melbourne, at the entrance of the Yarra Valley. It welcomes the local community and visitors from near and far to its exhibitions and performances and invites them to enjoy its unique buildings, restaurant, extensive gardens and rich cultural history.
The grounds and church offer amazing backdrops for your wedding photography. The dim light inside the stone church makes for an intimate and romantic atmosphere. According to their site many of the buildings at Montsalvat are made via a process called pisé de terre, or rammed earth, using soil from the site. However the iconic Great Hall is built from a reef of mudstone which was uncovered in the grounds during excavation. Many of the other building materials used were sourced from wreckers’ and builders’ yards across Melbourne.
The grounds are perfect for wedding portraits with the bride and groom and also wedding party.
Scott & Kate
Melbourne, Australia Wedding
Scott + Kate’s wedding in Australia will go down as one of the most memorable weddings that Lindsay and I ever had the pleasure of photographing.
