Brandon & Win

While we love our Pacific Northwest roots, we all know it can get a little rainy here. So we never turn down in opportunity to shoot in our sunny sister to the south…California. Win & Brandon gave us the chance to photograph our first Venice Beach engagement session and we can’t think of a better couple to have spent a gorgeous sunset engagement with.

We began our adventure on Abbot Kinney, famous for it’s shops, food and of course, array of Los Angeles murals. Win & Brandon’s playful personalities were the perfect accompaniment to the colorful backdrops we found while cruising the streets of Venice. We found little alleyways with rainbow walls, shops that are so artfully designed they were backdrops in themselves and of course, a few palm trees to dot the backgrounds of our photographs.

Eventually making our way to Venice Beach, Brandon had a costume change in the middle of the street, which of course no one in quirky Venice batted an eye to. Win and Brandon were game for every idea we had, including chasing seagulls on the beach, posing in the middle of the street with skateboarders whizzing past and standing on top of the wall so we could get a better angle of palm trees as the sun set over the beach.

After the shoot, we capped the evening by talking wedding logistics and sharing slices of pizza at Gjelina, one of our favorite places on Abbot Kinney. We hope can return again for another Venice beach engagement, and maybe this time we can find a proper changing room for our grooms along the way….
