Natalie and Hai’s Cathedral Park engagement session (with the beautiful St. John’s bridge backdrop) was one of Lindsay’s first days back at work after the birth of our second child, Milo. We couldn’t have picked a better day to get back shooting together, as Natalie and Hai were so much fun to hang out with. To them, it was their engagement photo session. To us, it was a double date night with a super fun couple that we’ll have the pleasure to capture again next summer for their wedding.
We share a lot in common with this couple, including a love of food and travel. Our recommendation for a champagne bar in town for their after session date sparked a conversation about a trip Natalie and Hai took to the actual Champagne region in France (#jealous). We swapped stories of other favorite travels and favorite Portland restaurants, all the while taking in one of the last beautiful fall days we had.
The trees of Cathedral Park did not disappoint us, and we took full advantage of their abundant beauty. Including a playful game of throw leaves in each other’s faces (see animated gif in the top banner…laughs encouraged) and we can say that Natalie totally won! These two were just so joyful and easy to be around, and as drove home from “date night”, we couldn’t stop talking about how lucky we were to be their wedding photographers.
