We first chatted with Erin and Chris about their wedding in early October. They were newly engaged and as we sat down to Skype with them from their Boston apartment, they put it quite simply. We’re happy, we’re in love and we want to get married. No need to waste time. Sometimes that’s exactly how it needs to happen and when we showed up at their venue 2 months later, we were beyond impressed by how they put together such a lovely, intimate and thoughtful affair in just under two months.
Chris and Erin took their vows at a church in Hillsboro, with pews full of family and close friends behind them. These two have an impeccable sense of humor; it’s quick and witty yet sincere and light hearted. Their vows did not fall short of these qualities. A little tears and a little laughs were shed followed by some fist pumping excitement as they were announced husband and wife.
The party continued at one of our favorite barn locations, McMenamins Cornelius Pass. We always love coming back here and seeing how each couple does it differently. Chris and Erin entertained guests with an adorable butt squeezing first dance, toasts that tugged at your heart strings and finally, a karaoke machine. Where Erin successfully gave one of the most spirited performances we’ve ever seen by a bride. (Rivaled only by her sister, who grabbed the mic a few minutes later.)
We loved the energy and love behind this wedding. But mostly, attitudes like Chris and Erin’s remind us to take life as it comes and seize the moment while you have it. Cheers to that!
Yeah you guys nailed this one. I do love that barn…
