Planning a wedding is no easy feat as is and planning a Portland wedding while living in New York makes the task even harder. Luckily, Hobin and Ella hired an amazing local wedding planner, Molli Barss of Soiree and the pieces of their Elysian Ballroom wedding came together perfectly.
Wearing a modern version of a traditional Korean wedding dress, Ella looked absolutely radiant as her sweet and adoring groom greeted her under the ballroom’s immaculate chandeliers for their ceremony. Hobin was the perfect groom. Always looking and smiling at Ella and particularly during their first dance, he simply couldn’t keep his eyes off his new wife. These two are both in their residency for medical school and share so much together, from work to passion to dreams. It’s really beautiful to see two people who not only maintain a relationship filled with love but also a friendship, especially with demanding schedules and the pressures of their jobs.
That said, doctors really know how to cut loose. The reception gave way to a full on 90’s rap dance party and even we couldn’t be kept off the dance floor. At one point, Daniel and Ella’s hilarious brother literally owned the stage for one song with the entire wedding looking on, laughing and taking photos. Later, Ella threw on her getting ready robe so she could really move and shake with her husband. We stayed until the very last song and wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Thank you Hobin and Ella for inviting us into your lives and allowing us to put the cameras down for a song or two!
