This past summer marked the second time we have photographed two weddings in the same family, in the same year, and both sisters! Meg was our initial contact when we booked her and her sister Mallory’s wedding the year before. She has enthusiastically emailed, corresponded and Facebook stalked us ever since. And we love that about her. I get excited when I see her name pop up as a “like” on our page, because it means she liked us before, during and after we photographed her beautiful Hood River wedding.
Just like her sister, Meg began the day by seeing her groom, David, at her family’s home which is set amongst sprawling acres of pear trees (that the family grow and sell themselves). We took full advantage of this natural beauty during portrait time before the wedding. After which, we headed to their amazing Columbia Gorge wedding venue, the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. A historical learning museum by day, wedding venue by night. Their sweet ceremony swept us into a fun filled evening of local homemade Mexican food, a few games of cornhole and some epic dancing (read: epic air guitar). This party could only be matched by the seriously epic sunset that preceded it. I have told several people since this wedding, “Meg and David had the best sunset all year.” This might be because they chose to tie the knot in late September. Which can scare some Oregonians away with fears about the weather but if you get lucky, the light is amazing and the colors are jaw dropping.
We’re so happy we could be the photographers for both these kick ass sisters and their new husbands. Cheers Meg and David! Enjoy a selection of our favorite photos from the day.
