Josh and Liz are people of passion, love, and commitment. They are devoted to each other and their families. But above all, they love two things the most: running and each other. How these two marathon running go getters found each other is a pretty cute story.
Liz was living in New York at the time. Looking to meet people and partake in her favorite exercise, she joined the local Nike running club. Well, Josh works for Nike and just happened to be the person who organizes the club. The two hit it off and after being running buddies for a little while, turned their relationship romantic. Sometime later, Liz accepted a position with Google in San Francisco, where they began a long distance relationship. Many cross country trips, marathons and Google hangouts later, Josh popped the question and Liz, of course, said yes.
While still living in both New York and San Francisco, they planned their Benson Hotel wedding, in the heart of downtown Portland (where Liz grew up). The ceremony took place at the gorgeous, low lit First Congregational church. Teary vows were exchanged and over 100 guests cheered for them as they sealed their marriage. A classy, understated and thoughtful reception followed in the Benson’s Crystal Ballroom. The groom’s cake was a NYC yellow cab with the words “Run Away With Me” iced on top, a nod to their favorite expression which speaks to their relationship perfectly.
After toasts, Josh and Liz swapped their fancy shoes for, naturally, pairs of Converse and the party kicked off with our favorite local musician, John Ross, who kept us rocking with his unique blend of live music and DJ sound.
We wish Josh and Liz many years of happiness in New York, where they are finally together again and probably running a marathon as I am typing this! Cheers and congratulations, Josh and Liz!
