Domi and Larry are our favorite kind of couple. For starters, a few months after booking us, they referred us to friends of theirs and another awesome couple, John and Gary. We hadn’t photographed Domi and Larry’s wedding or even their engagement session yet and they were already sending us to friends.
Secondly, they are a dream to work with. Domi is bright, smart, efficient and extremely, extremely kind. Larry is funny, easy going, loves camera shop talk and also extremely, extremely kind. From the first email with them almost 2 years ago to receiving their wedding photos last week, they were hands down two of the nicest and sweetest people we have ever met, let alone had the pleasure of photographing. So there you have it, we just love Domi and Larry.
Domi booked us 22 months before her wedding date, which we rarely do. (The typical booking window is 12-16 months.) Somewhere in between those 22 months, we had a super fun engagement session in the pearl district, saw them at John and Gary’s wedding and then before we knew it, it was their wedding day and we were just a tad excited that it had finally come. The day began at the Nines Hotel and would take us through downtown to their Portland Art Museum wedding.
To be honest, we knew we were in for an amazing day the moment we arrived. Domi and Larry made us feel like members of the wedding party and never hesitated to check in on us and make sure everything was okay. Which, of course, it was. Domi planned every detail to perfection but never managed to lose her smile and enthusiasm for what was a very full and eventful day. Even when Larry was hand feeding her pizza before the ceremony because she hadn’t ate yet. The day just flowed beautifully and the evening followed suit, with guests enjoying dinner, dancing and Salt & Straw ice cream amidst the amazing architecture and beauty of the art museum.
We are so happy for Domi and Larry. They deserve every bit of joy they bring each other. We couldn’t be happier to have been their photographers and feel lucky enough to now call them our friends. Cheers to our other favorite D+L!
