It’s so funny to meet a couple an entire year, or sometimes more, before their wedding and think that it seems like an eternity until you’ll see them again. Then that year seems to FLY by and you find yourself suited up and ready to document their day. With a lot of our couples, we’ll meet for drinks or find time to connect before the wedding. But with the case of Francesly and Loren, these two live in Seattle and while it’s a mere 3 hours from Portland, it’s almost as if it’s another continent sometimes! So we were so happy when that year of waiting was finally up and we could reconnect with these two and photograph their special day.
Francesly and Loren chose to host a classy, urban chic wedding in the heart of downtown Portland. The day began with Francesly busily getting ready with a crowd of her best girlfriends at Hotel Lucia. It was a frenzy of emotions, makeup and dress tying (each bridesmaid had a floor length jersey dress that could be tied in different ways at the top, left for some creative looks and I, Lindsay, loved each seeing each one!) Meanwhile, Loren was enjoying some of Portland’s finest whiskey and enjoying humorous toasts in another room with his best guys.
After their sweet first look in the lobby, we headed to their gorgeous ceremony venue, the First Presbyterian Church. Draped in deep tones and rich candles, it was the perfect romantic setting for this couple. Their reception kicked off at the rooftop of the Ecotrust Building in the pearl district, where Francesly and Loren arrived with the best bubble entrance we’ve ever seen. These guests did not disappoint in the bubbling! Toasts from their closest friends were given and all the while, Francesly’s face lit up the room with her big, bright and endearing smile from ear to ear. It didn’t take long for the dancing to ensue and we were wowed by the moves! From the couple’s sexy latin salsa skills to Francesly’s mom gettin’ down at every chance, it was clear that this was not just a wedding but a celebration of family, friends and love.
We are so happy we could be there to photograph every moment. And we’re definitely making the trip to Seattle soon to finally grab that drink with Francesly and Loren. Cheers!
