A Timberline Lodge Wedding
We are posting this blog in the middle of winter, when mountains, like the majestic Mt. Hood, are blanketed in snow. Currently, most people enjoying the beauty of Mt. Hood are doing so on a snowboard or set of skis. Which is why we thought it might be the perfect time to share a summer wedding at Timberline Lodge. No snow and no slopes but nevertheless a place of pure magic.
Pure magic happens to also be a fitting description for Micah and Margaret’s Timberline Lodge Wedding. We are so in love with the way this entire day turned out. From the wonderful humans that got married to the perfect weather to the effortless moments of love and connection…we really truly enjoyed every moment of this day. Truth be told, this is one of the best days we have had photographing a wedding at Timberline Lodge.
Micah and Margaret embraced their day in the best way possible. After months of meticulous planning, these two embodied the single piece of advice we give every couple: just let go and have fun. They did their planning. Thoughtful details were created. (Hello Micah etching their names into the altar AND the bottom of Margaret’s shoes! Nicely done!) Everything was in place. Then they simply soaked it all in.
Micah and Margaret exchanged vows on the outdoor patio. (Ok it was a tad windy but that only made for better, and snugglier, photos!) After the ceremony, guests warmed up inside the Raven’s Nest with Timberline’s yummy catering and drinks. Before the dancing got underway, we managed to sneak out for sunset photos. The skies were 360 magic this night. Micah and Margaret got to witness Daniel and I in full photographer insanity mode, running every which way to capture the every evolving sunset as it was happening. The light just kept. getting. better.
Micah and Margaret loved every second. They let us do our thing while simply enjoying the quiet little break from the party. They reveled at the mountain and revels in their newlywed bliss. We took 10,000 photos and repeated the words “wow” or “omg this sunset is so good” dozens of times. Any photographer will tell you….a happy couple and a pocket of fantastic light – that is where the magic happens!
Back inside, Micah and Margaret danced the hora, took shots with their family and embraced friends as the night went on. Congratulations to these two! We feel honored to have played a small part of it!
