It’s freezing cold in Portland right now so we are so happy to throw it back to Jersey and Patrick’s California wedding today in September! It was labor day weekend and we were flown in to celebrate with this fun couple at the unique Preservation Park wedding venue in Oakland. At Jersey and Patrick’s Santa Cruz engagement session earlier in the year, these two got nearly drenched in the ocean but they still kept laughing and smiling for the camera. And that is when we knew this couple was made for us and we couldn’t wait for their wedding to arrive.
Preservation Park is a unique venue in the heart of Oakland. It was a new experience for us to shoot in a venue like this and we took advantage of all it had to offer. Jersey and Patrick exchanged vows under the palm trees of the lush garden atmosphere of the park. The reception was held around a Parisian fountain in the center of the park’s historic Victorian buildings. Jersey and Patrick happily laid in that fountain for a photo, a testament to their carefree spirits and willingness to try anything for a photo, just like in their engagment session on the beach! We were also able to roam the grounds and shoot around ornate iron fences, along brick paths and under old fashioned street lamps. This venue makes you feel like you are having a wedding in the middle of a charming town that you have all to yourself.
Enjoy a few of our favorites and congrats again Jersey and Patrick!
Lovely pictures i love the last one!
Wonderful pictures especially the black and white ones!
I was unable to attend the wedding due to a family illness, but after seeing the wonderful photographs you took, I feel as if I was there. You sure know how to capture a moment, transform it into a feeling, and make it a memory. Great Job. I’m glad Jersey & Patrick will always have these photos to remember their special day.
