Mt. Hood Organic Farms weddings in the summer….is there anything better? If you have yet to attend a wedding at this iconic Columbia Gorge wedding venue, then we urge you to quickly encourage your sister, brother or best friend to get married there.
Luckily for us, we scored this amazing couple…Sami and Aidan! We love these two! They were planning from the east coast, which can be stressful, but these two were always the most gracious and enthusiastic during the process. With the help of Mt. Hood Organic Farm’s incredible wedding coordinator Cassandra, we felt so excited going into their wedding weekend.
2020 was obviously a tough year, and most of our weddings were postponed to 2021. Well Sami and Aidan actually booked their wedding IN 2021, and we’re not gonna lie, it gave us a small thrill to feel that feeling of weddings “coming back”. Sami and Aidan took every precaution to make sure their wedding was safe, including the ask that guests be vaccinated. We almost don’t want to talk about the pandemic on our blog, in the spirit of being positive and optimistic, but we also want to be real and inform the world that yes! You can get married! It can be safe, it can be well thought out and it WILL be amazing just the same. Look no further than this wedding for evidence of that.
Now back to Sami and Aidan’s wedding and this venue…Mt. Hood Organic Farms embodies every quality you are looking for in an Oregon wedding with a view of Mt. Hood. You are 20 minutes from quaint downtown Hood River, surrounded by sprawling apple orchards in every direction and of course, the farm has the BEST view of Mt. Hood. Most of Sami and Aidan’s guests traveled in for the wedding and one of my favorite things about shooting at the farm, is the reaction you see from out of town guests. There is no shortage of “Oh My God” and about 9 million selfies are taken in front of the mountain. Heck, we even take about 9 million selfies of ourselves while working here!
After all the oohing and aahing, Sami and Aidan’s guests enjoyed delicious NW food and wine, a father of the bride speech that induced tears of laughter as he broke into song with Aidan at his side, a moody but dreamy sunset over the mountain, and of course, the dance party of a lifetime provided by Gorge Wedding Music. It was the perfect way to back together; hugging, smiling and toasting together. I think everyone, including us, will be forever grateful that this couple brought us together again. Cheers to you newlyweds and we hope to see you for your next life milestone!
