Ian and Carlie were married last fall, on the day before Halloween, in their home city of San Francisco. Ian got ready in the apartment on the pan handle, a special place that holds meaning for them. Carlie got ready in what was one of the most beautiful Airbnb rentals we’ve ever seen, with rooftop that lead to a 360 view of the city, where the two decided to have their first look and a few portraits with us before diving into their wedding day.
The rooftop theme continued at a new San Francisco wedding venue, The Pearl. This venue is tucked down in the Dogpatch neighborhood and although the industrial rooftop setting for the ceremony is definitely a draw for couples, the interior of The Pearl is just as inviting. It’s warehouse meets ballroom meets art gallery. Simply put, it embodied the essence of San Francisco and was perfect for a couple like Ian and Carlie, who appreciated both urban culture as well as natural beauty.
Speaking of the couple, Ian is a photographer himself who can be found behind the lens of his film cameras for his editorial work. We are always humbled, flattered and quite frankly, completely nervous when a photographer hires us. But Ian and Carlie made us feel so comfortable. They embraced us and placed 100% trust in our vision.
The day was an absolute treat to document. It was full of emotion, humor, and unapologetic displays of love between not just Ian and Carlie, but them and all their guests. Here are a handful of our favorite images…enjoy!
Nice wedding photography, very nice pictures.
