Bill & Wendy go so well together that it’s hard to believe they ever weren’t a couple. They are just so similar and so compatible, it’s crazy. Since we follow them on Instagram now of course, I can tell you a lot about Bill and Wendy and I can tell you that you’d be their friends too if you could. For starters, Bill and Wendy love cozy nights at home with their fluffy cat, Ember (shout out to Ember’s first blog mention!). Wendy is a master at the sewing machine and Bill loves to watch basketball. They take photos of each other at home, seemingly while the other one doesn’t notice which is extra cute. We feel so lucky to have gotten to know them and we’re so excited to share their wedding photos today!
Bill & Wendy first booked their venue, The Evergreen PDX and their coordinator, Morgan Harris of MH Events. During their photographer search, they told Morgan they needed a relaxed and fun photography team that would make them feel good in front of the camera. Morgan immediately thought of us, which is so flattering, and within a couple of weeks, we were booked too! Morgan is just as laid back as the rest of us, yet she plans a killer wedding. She’s quick on her feet and funny behind the scenes, keeping things light yet organized. The best combo in a wedding planner, and we can’t work together again!
Bill and Wendy got ready and had their first look the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland. It was a drizzly day but we still made a quick stop at the Eastbank Esplanade to take a few moody portraits with our city. Afterwards, it was on to The Evergreen where Bill and Wendy had a planned a fall themed celebration. A neat feature of this venue is being able to have your cocktail hour downstairs at The Loyal Legion. While Morgan and her team flipped the upstairs, guests enjoyed the leather booths and delicious cocktails downstairs. Back in the Evergreen, guests were ready for their delicious catered meal by Cheryl’s and an evening of dancing to the best DJ service in town, John Ross Music. (who still uses one of our images for his website header! yeah!)
The highlight for me (Lindsay) was taking the last photos of the night…Bill and Wendy playing Mariocart. Yup, you read that right. Wendy won (fair and square) and with that, we bid the night farewell. I don’t know how to else to say it other than Bill and Wendy’s wedding was just so much fun. Enjoy our favorite images!
