Jake and Marisa’s Allison Inn wedding in the heart of the Willamette Valley wine country was one of our favorites we have photographed in the area. If you haven’t been to the Allison Inn, it is the perfect getaway from Portland, with luxury accommodations, a delicious five star restaurant and the most relaxing comforting landscape you can dream of. We really can’t think of a better spot to have a wine country wedding when your goal is treat yourself and treat your guests. Which is exactly what Jake and Marisa accomplished over their Allison Inn wedding weekend.
Their wedding began with the dream team. The incomparable Cassandra Kennedy and her team gave Marisa and her wedding party timeless wedding looks that just exuded elegance, grace and beauty. Cassandra is a gem to work with and our #1 recommendation each time a bride asks. The day went super smooth because of the planning from a long time Portland wedding coordinator, Molli Barss of Soiree Event Planning. Molli is just a class act, with years of experience to pull off the grandest of events, including Jake and Marisa’s nearly 300 guest event. Now, on to this couple and the elements of the day that made it so special.
Jake and Marisa chose the garden of the Allison Inn for the ceremony, which gave a romantic feeling to their jewish ceremony under the chuppah. The light hit them just perfect from behind the trees as they exchanged vows, heard seven blessings from friends and family, sipped the wine and sealed the whole deal with a kiss. After which, we had some fun portrait time with the couple in and around the Inn’s grounds. The Allison Inn gives you so many places to shoot portraits. From dramatic hallway lighting to dreamy tuscan walls against the sunset, we were in photo heaven.
But eventually it was time…to party. The hora dance was kicked off by their awesome band Precious Byrd. It was our first time working with this energetic team and it was awesome. Jake and Marisa both hold an MBA and both work in consulting. They wear suits and have important meetings all over the country, most days per week. As did many of their friends in attendance. But Precious Byrd got those suit jackets off, couples singing into the mic and Marisa joining them on stage even! It is always SO fun to see a band bring that out of people and of course, it was a blast to photograph the epic hora moment.
We truly enjoyed ourselves at this wedding and can’t thank Jake and Marisa enough fro choosing us with the trusted job to document their big day. Mazel tov!
